You Can Be a Blessing – Opportunities to Share:

  • The Giving Tree – The Giving Tree will be set up when we decorate the church for Christmas and will be dressed with Christmas “ornaments” upon which will be written items for the Grace Centers of Hope Homeless Shelter and the Methodist Children’s Home. In addition to the usual hats and mittens, we are collecting socks and underwear for children, adults and families. The following sizes are needed: children’s sizes (2-16 years old); youth sizes 18; and adult Medium. Please take one or more of these “ornaments”, purchase the item, and place it in the collection box near the Giving Tree. These items must be NEW, not used, and please do NOT wrap them. This mission project gives us the opportunity to show our love for those less fortunate and to bring blessings to children, youth, and adults.
  • Community Free Meals – Our church volunteers cook and serve a nutritious meal on the first and fifth Wednesdays of the month from 5:30 – 6:30pm. Other local church and community volunteers cook on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays. We can still use your help! About 50 people attend our Wednesday Community Free Meals. If you can help with set-up (10 – 11am) or serving (5:15 – 6:30pm) please contact Pastor Jennifer or the church office.
  • Christmas Eve Cookies Needed  – Your help is needed during Fellowship time after the 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service. We are asking members to bring a dozen or so cookies to share. Both homemade or  homemade-style purchased cookies are greatly welcome. Please plan on dropping off your cookies before the beginning of the Christmas Eve service, down in the Fellowship Hall about 6:45pm.
  • Christmas Eve Singers – The Praise Singers invite you to join them as they sing joyfully and lead the church in Christmas songs. Please contact Pastor Jennifer.

Gifts for a King

Bring him thy precious things and lay them at his feet;  The gold of love, the hope that springs

The unknown ways to meet. Bring him thy lovely things; The joy that conquers care,

The faith that trusts and sings, The frankincense of prayer.

Bring him thy bitter things; The myrrh of grief and fears,

The aching heart that stings with pain of unshed tears.

These for thy gifts to him; And for his gifts to thee,

The comfort of his steadfast love, His tender sympathy.
