Operation Christmas Child partners with churches to reach boys and girls with the love of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoebox gifts, many children hear a Bible message about Jesus and God’s love. The Greatest Journey is a special Christian Education program that shares Bible stories and the story of Jesus and the gift of salvation. Our church has filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and supported this mission program for many, many years.

Shoebox items needed: “wow” gifts like a doll, soccer ball, stuffed animal, etc. Other gifts like balls, jump ropes, marbles. School supplies- pens and pencils, crayons and markers, notebooks, coloring books. Non-liquid hygiene items: bar soap, toothbrushes and paste, washcloths, combs and brushes. DO NOT include: liquids or lotions, chocolate or candy that melts (only hard candy), no knives or military soldier figures, breakable items.

Operation Christmas Child program also needs your prayers: pray for the children all over the world, pray for the volunteers in the US and overseas, pray for God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ to be experienced

through these Christmas gifts and the “Greatest Journey” discipleship program for the children.

We hope you will support Operation Christmas Child program through your gifts and also your monetary donations ($7 to send each shoebox gift). Please make checks out to Oxford UMC and designate “Operation Christmas Child” on the memo line. Gift items for the shoeboxes are due: Monday, November 7. After church we will be filling the shoeboxes too, or you can donate a complete shoebox for a boy or a girl (indicate age).
