“It only takes a spark to get a fire going, and soon all those around can warm up in its glowing. That’s how it is with love once you’ve experienced it; you spread his love to everyone, you want to pass it on.”(Kurt Kaiser, 1969)
Summer time is a good time to spend outdoors with family and friends – maybe go for a picnic, take a walk, go boating, go camping, just relax! When I was a youth, I went to UMC church camp and Girl Scout camp. Do you remember singing the song “Pass it On” around the campfire? It reminds all of us that God’s love is alive and suppose to be passed on to others.
We share God’s love through our church’s mission and outreach efforts, so please sign up to help with our Vacation Bible School (August 7-11), or our Ice Cream Social (Oxford Days on Aug 6 Sat.), and/or Children’s Church/Sunday School on Sunday mornings.
We also share God’s love by sharing our resources, so please donate cleaning supplies (July focus) and school supplies (August focus) to FISH Food Pantry that serves our low-income neighbors. There are so many ways to share God’s love. I hope every one will actively “Pass it On” and share God’s love with others in many different ways.
Grace and Peace,
