From November 11th to November 17th, Pastor Jennifer and five other United Methodist Pastors (Karl Zeigler, Diana and Bob Goudie, Mary McInnis, Melodye Surgeon-Rider) will be teaching and presenting New Testament lectures to local pastors in Haiti. Local pastors work full time at an outside job and then work as a local pastor to serve their church members and the community. The group of UMC pastors, along with four lay person facilitators) will be teaching in three towns in Haiti and getting to know the people in Jeremie (western Haiti), and Petion-Ville, and Petit Goave (towns near Port au Prince in eastern Haiti).

Pastor Jennifer has been busy studying and preparing for her lectures on “The Teaching Ministry of Jesus” and “The Letters of St. Paul.” She will also preach on Sunday November 15 at a local Methodist Church in Haiti. Her daughter Heather is also volunteering as a facilitator and video recorder on this Haiti Mission trip. Former member Joyce Wood was committed to supporting Haiti missions. Her memorial fund provided the finances to send Pastor Jennifer and Heather on this Haiti mission trip. Our Piece Makers quilting group also supported Haiti missions by sewing flannel baby blankets for new babies and for the birthing kits, and also sewing children’s shorts and sun dresses.

Please pray for the babies, children, and new mothers living in Haiti. The Methodist health clinics and Methodist schools and their missionary doctors and local staff who help support children and family health and education needs. Please pray for the pastors and churches of Haiti and our Michigan Area UMC mission team who will teach local pastors in November and also in April 2016.
