Happy Spring! Happy Easter! Well, maybe we can’t be sure about the arrival of warm spring weather, but we can be positive that we will celebrate Easter on March 27. Halleluiah! Christ is risen. He’s risen indeed!

As we celebrate this special time of the year, I thought I would check on the strength of our Godly Connections. For those of you who heard my Sunday message in January, hopefully you have put to use a few of the suggestions for staying strongly connected to God in our daily lives.

Our spiritual growth and effectiveness as strong Christians is totally dependent on the strength of our connection to God. Here’s a brief summary of Connection Suggestions from my message:

  • Acknowledge God – as soon as your eyes pop open every morning.
  • Grace before Meals – every meal, everywhere.
  • Gas Pump Minute – visualize God’s holy energy pouring into you.
  • Light Switch Moment – pray for someone who needs the light of God’s love.
  • The Count-To-60-Avoid-A-Fight Prayer – “One for God, Two for God, Three for God . . .”
  • The Stoplight Act of Contrition – take a moment to say to God, “I’m sorry.”
  • Claim a Verse – post a scripture where you see it every day.
  • Nighttime Taps – relax into sleep with prayer.

There are many ways we can strengthen our connection to God. Have you tried muting the commercials, closing your eyes, and praying? Or better yet, turn off the TV and all
other “devices” and sit in silence, empty your mind, and listen to what God might be trying to say to you.

The sooner we learn that the goal of life is to be pleasing to God in every way we know how, the easier it becomes to stay strongly connected to Him.
